Swell Investing, an 8 month old start-up makes impact investing easy, accessible, and inspiring. We’re changing the way the world invests and are building up our in-house design team.
We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer: Someone who gets excited about turning a complex workflow into a simple user experience, and someone who is able to quickly articulate their design ideas clearly and precisely.
Once here, you will:
Be flexible and open to participating in design efforts wherever they may be needed on the Swell team.
Participate in rapid prototyping, testing designs with users and iterating on new and existing features.
Work on marketing, social media and product design work as prioritized by the design, brand and growth and product teams.
Support the design and development of usability testing plans, and provide recommendations based on test results.
Use both your visual design and product UX skills to deliver on an exceptional user experience.
Explore and iterate on concepts until they meet the intersection of user desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability.
Partner with Design, Business Strategy, Product, Marketing, and Engineering team members to design and build new features.
The ideal candidate:
Mid to Senior level: 5-7+ years of design experience
Degree in Interaction design, graphic design or equivalent
Is passionate about bringing projects from concept to completion, doing everything possible to ensure their success.
Champion the users' point of view in discussions of new product features.
Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, blending creativity, community building and consumer empathy.
Loves sprints, can whip up wireframes, and knows that prototypes of interfaces and interactions are where the magic happens.
Has an appreciation for the power of designer/developer pairing.
Financial fluency and a curiosity for social impact investing a plus.
Leads with empathy, integrity, and openness to learn – a person who welcomes candid feedback, and can constructively give it as well. We are building an amazing product and culture, so your attitude is just as important as your resume.
Mastery of design tools like Sketch, Prototyping tools, Photoshop, Illustrator, a basic awareness of online coding language abilities (HTML/CSS) and good old fashioned sketching.
